Advanced Rafting - Class 4

Middle Fork American River Map

Our class 4 trips can be best described as... exciting rapids, amazing scenery and pristine wilderness. You don't need to have paddling experience but everyone needs to be in good athletic shape and have swimming ability. We have Class 4 river adventures  on 2 sections of the American River and also the North Fork Yuba. We run our class 4 trips as private charters only... it will be your own group of paddlers in each raft. Our private charters require at least 4 persons to book. We require you to fill your raft(s) with 4 to 6 persons per raft.

2018 Projections -  The class 4 North Fork American River will run in May and early June in 2018. The class 4 & 5 North Yuba will be raftable from mid May through mid June. The class 3 and 4 Middle Fork American River will be too low to raft until mid July but is an excellent choice for an adventurous trip  July through September. Scenery is amazing on all of these rivers.

Beyond Limits' most experienced guides conduct our Class 4 trips daily. If you have a guide request please feel free to include this on your online reservation.

“Fantastic facility and guides”

We had a group of 13 people rafting and camping and Beyond Limits was so accommodating. Most of the people had been rafting before but a few people hadn't and were a bit nervous. Each guide was great at making the trip as mellow or 'adventurous' to fit the different groups in the rafts. Everyone had a great time and people that had been rafting before with other outfitters said this one was the most fun. It was great to see both Scott and Chris, who had guided us previously a couple years ago.
What set the trip apart was the campground and services available. There are flush toilets and hot showers available. The tent site was right by the river on a flat grassy area with swimming and some fishing available. Most impressively the dinner and hot breakfast were delicious. The staff literally work all day and most of the night to prep, guide, cook and clean. It took a lot of the hassle away that usually comes with organizing a group trip.
